Era alta mi madre y erguida
En un intento de afrontar la pérdida y reflexionar sobre la relación que tuve con mi madre, tras su muerte inesperada, comencé a documentar sus pertenencias. Mientras transitaba el duelo, fotografié sus objetos.
¿Qué significado tienen los objetos que utilizamos?
¿Qué revelan sobre una persona?
Fotografié los objetos con diferentes herramientas: fotografía digital, analógica y sin cámara. Empleando diferentes recursos mediales con cualidades y propiedades distintas intento metaforizar la relación filial entre madre e hija.
Era alta mi madre y erguida busca representar el paso del tiempo a través de objetos—objetos que me permiten recordar el pasado mientras reflexiono sobre cómo las percepciones de la belleza, influenciadas por la cultura, la sociedad y la evolución de las expectativas de belleza ideal, a veces significaban nuestra relación.
Esta serie no solo intenta articular el pasado y el presente, sino también registrar la percepción de lo agraciado y de las narrativas de feminidad. Pero, especialmente, es sobre la pérdida y sobre la búsqueda de huellas, tanto físicas como psicológicas, del paso del tiempo.
